SJSU EnvS 152:
Globalization & the Environment
This website provides students in the EnvS 152 course with access
to lecture and supporting materials for the course.

This course is about the intertwining issues of global trade,
commerce and packaging, poverty, the environment, and the
interplay of science and social science.  We will study the
implications of global trade on the environment, poverty, human
rights, human health, and the national and international politics of
these issues.  We will also address the science used in the design
and manufacturing of products, including chemical and physical
properties of goods and how this relates to international trade and
environmental issues.  We will also investigate the affect of
international regulations and trade agreements on the design of
products and associated concerns about waste reduction,
recycling, energy consumption, resource efficiency and the role of
science to accomplish these goals.

--We have not inherited the Earth from our ancestors, we have
borrowed it from our children. {ancient proverb}
